BC law says the VSA can help with issues involving many vehicles, but not all of them

BC law says the VSA can help with issues involving many motor vehicles, but not all of them. Below is a list of different types of motor vehicles and shows if the VSA can or cannot help with a complaint about them.

 

Vehicle types the VSA can help with:

Automobiles

  • New and used cars
  • Light trucks
  • SUVs
  • Minivans

 

Motorcycles

  • Motorcycles
  • Limited Speed Motorcycles (LSMs)- Small motor scooters, mopeds 

 

Recreational vehicles

  • RVs
  • Recreational trailers
  • Utility & horse trailers with living quarters
  • Tent trailers
  • Utility trailers with accommodation and a GVWR over 1,400 kg

 

Vehicle types the VSA cannot help with:

  • Motor Assisted Cycles (MACs)
  • Mini motorcycles (pocket bikes)
  • Motorized wheelchairs
  • Dirt bikes/Restricted Use Motorcycles (RUMs)
  • Truck box campers
  • Park model trailers
  • Boat trailers
  • Golf carts
  • Utility trailers with a GVWR of 1,400 kg or less
  • Farm equipment (tractors, etc.)
  • All-terrain vehicles (ATVs, and Quads and side-by-sides)
  • Snowmobiles
  • Boats and jet skis
