The dealer ran an improper credit check
BC law protects the privacy of your personal information. Privacy means a dealer may only use your personal information in the way you allow. For example, a dealer may only run a credit check with your permission.
The VSA tracks improper credit checks, so it is important to report them. Removing an improper check from your credit history is possible. To do so, contact a credit monitoring company like Equifax or TransUnion.
