Terms of extended warranty
The terms of the extended warranty must be those promised by the dealer. Dealers must give you accurate information about the warranty. If you are not sure about the terms, contact the warranty provider to ask what is covered. For example, if a dealer sells you a vehicle with a modified suspension (lifted) and says you are fully covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, this may not be accurate, and you should double check.
BC law requires dealers to provide warranty information before a sale. They must provide information to the best of their knowledge. Dealers have a duty to learn about the warranty so they can give you this information.
Dealers must stand behind what they say. They must not try to deceive or mislead you with their words, documents, or actions. They must explain the terms of your warranty and not omit any information regarding the warranty.
