Technical Service Bulletin:
An advisory issued by a manufacturer. Dealer service departments use the advisory for recurring problems. The advisory typically includes illustrated instructions for repair. Further, it includes a list of the parts needed for the repairs. The advisory outlines warranty status and the labor charge.
Term:
The length of a lease or loan, generally expressed in months.

The Vehicle Sales Authority of British Columbia ("the VSA") provides the My Self-Help guide ("the Guide") as an online tool that will be a starting point for consumers who have issues following an interaction with a VSA licensee. The Guide will provide users with information to help better understand their issues, options for how to deal with their issues and information that may help resolving their issues.
User Agreement
The Vehicle Sales Authority of British Columbia ("the VSA") provides the My Self-Help guide ("the Guide") as an online tool that will be a starting point for consumers who have issues following an interaction with a VSA licensee. The Guide will provide users with information to help better understand their issues, options for how to deal with their issues and information that may help resolving their issues.
The VSA reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service without notice. Please review the Terms of Service periodically for changes as your continued use of the Guide following the posting of changes will deem you as having accepted them.
Ownership and Licensing
The Guide and all of its included information, documents, resources, tools and other materials ("the Materials") are owned by the VSA and are protected by copyright, trademark, official mark and other laws. Except as expressly permitted in these Terms of Service, you must not reproduce or distribute, or permit or authorize any other person or entity to use, reproduce or distribute, any of the Materials in any form without the prior written consent of the VSA.
Personal Information and Privacy Protection
The VSA does not collect, store or distribute users' personal information while using the Guide.
Reproduction and Copyright
The VSA reserves all intellectual property rights pertaining to the Guide, including its name and logo which are the VSA's registered official marks. The intellectual property may not be copied, printed or otherwise used without prior written authorization from VSA.
Permitted Uses
You agree not to use the Guide for any purpose other than your own personal use. You agree to use the Guide only for lawful purposes.
Accuracy of the Materials
Users who use, copy, print or use the Materials for any of the permitted uses are responsible for confirming whether the Materials have been updated or amended by the VSA.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
You expressly acknowledge and agree that your use of the Guide is at your own risk and that neither the VSA nor any of its employees or agents shall be liable to you for any damages or loss of any kind whatsoever arising out of, or in any connection with, your use of the Guide.
You agree to indemnify and hold the VSA harmless from and against all claims, demands, loss, liability, damages and expense (including legal fees and disbursements) including actions for infringement of copyright, any third party claim inconsistent with your representations and warranties or otherwise in connection with your use of the Guide.
The VSA does not represent or warrant that: a) your use of the Guide will be timely, uninterrupted or error free; b) any errors in the Guide will be corrected; or c) the Guide will meet your expectations and requirements.
The VSA does not accept any obligations to provide user support of any kind with respect to the Guide, including any technical problems relating to accessing the Guide and/or any errors, inaccuracies, or other shortcomings of the Guides.

The Guide has been created for Users' convenience and solely for informative purposes. The Guide and any results flowing from use of the Guide in no way constitutes legal advice. Although the Guide may provide information concerning potential legal issues, it is not a substitute for legal advice from a qualified lawyer. Applicable Law
Use of the Guide and these Terms of Service are governed by the federal and provincial legislation in force in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any legal action against the VSA with regards to use of the Guide shall be brought exclusively before the courts of the Province of British Columbia.

Third Party Warranty:
A warranty from an independent insurance company. The warranty is to cover the cost of any future repairs. The warranty may be included or purchased with the vehicle. Coverage for repairs for existing problems are generally excluded.
Tire Levy (advance disposal fee):
A charge consumers must pay. This charge is for each new tire, at the time of purchase of a new or used vehicle.
Total Loss:
A status given to a vehicle that is not economical to repair.
Total Price:
The full amount payable for a vehicle.For new vehicles, the full amount includes:
The cost of accessories or optional equipment physically attached to the vehicle
Transportation charges
Pre-delivery inspection services
Non-negotiable dealer fees and options
This amount does not automatically include:
Taxes
Licence fees
Insurance costs
Advertisements must clearly state what is included.
Towing Capacity:
The maximum allowable weight a vehicle can pull. Exceeding this limit may void warranties and create unsafe driving conditions.
Trade-in:
Buyer’s current vehicle. This vehicle is sold to the dealer for an agreed upon price. This sale may be part of either a new or a used vehicle purchase agreement.
Transfer Fee:
A charge paid for transferring the ownership of the vehicle to the buyer.
